So I have a female normal ball python who I rescued from someone on Craigslist,
found out she's younger than he said she was.
when I picked her up, she was in shed process, and was all patchy and wrinkly.
a warm bath quickly relieved her of the annoying flaky skin.
shes a very healthy eater, eagerly eating no problem every five days.
anywho, on to what I want some info on.
when she had her last shed, maybe like a month ago.
as the skin ontop her head started to pull back to the base of we head, I noticed two lighter patches ontop et head.
furst I thought it was just a reflection of light from her water bowl as she was drinking when I noticed.
I gave her a soak and she peeled her entire shed in one piece.
And ontop her head, faded scales. There was so swelling or any sign of it being an I jury, as she acts just fine and doesn't mind kisses on her head and being touched. You can literally pet the top of her head and she doesn't care.
I have not been able to get any good answers or explanations of why these scales have faded pigmentation.
Is it maybe the possibility of some genetic trait?
or what....
mi believe she's just a normal morph, assuming the person I got et from got her as a gift for his son, who quickly grew bored with her. Which is why I have her now.
any advice on what these scales fading and loosin pigment would be helpful.
i can't post an image to this thread, but I will have photos of what I'm talkin about in my gallery.
