Well, as you wonderful folks continue to become friends of mine, I thought that I would share with you a very life altering purchase that I just made. Yesterday at approximately 11:30 am eastern time, I purchased an engagement ring.

My girlfriend & I have been together for just over four years now. We almost did the crazy college kid thing just over a year ago & decided to fly to Vegas & get married. (Yeah, there was a ton of Corona involved in that decision making process  ) We decided in the end that because we wanted our families involved, we would not do so. However, the next day I had her & the girl who would have been Nanci's maid of honor (our closest & most trusted mutual friend) go ring shopping. Lauren (said friend) took down all of the information on all of the rings that Nanci liked right down to the correct size & all. So, yesterday, I lied to Nanci & told her that I had to meet with a group from class to go over a presentation that we had to give at the end of the year. What I really did was picked up Lauren & went to Littman's Jewelers. Within ten minutes I was approved for a hefty line of credit at their store & within another five we had Nanci's dream ring purchased!! *poops in his pants at the thought of the cost* At any rate, we then went over to Things Remembered & bought toasting glasses, one of which will have written on it Nanci, will you marry me?

So, next month, May 17th in fact, I am taking Nanci to NYC. We are getting a room at the Waldorf Astoria. Upon arrival there will be a 300 dollar bottle of champagne & chocolate covered strawberries & whipped cream waiting in our Jr Suite. My plan is to un pack, unwind for a bit, then take out the special toasting glasses. Fill the one that says "Nanci will you marry me?" on it & give it to her. Then, while she is reading it, drop to one knee & pull out the "dream ring" & say some sort of sappy nonsense while asking her to be my wife!

It is all a very expensive situation for a girl who is anything but high maintenence. I just figure that hopefully this is the one & only time I will ever do this in life so I want to make it truly special. And, I wanted to share that with you, my newest group of friends! Wish me luck!
