Worried about pink belly and soaking
I got a ball python little over a week ago. Oct 19th. He is about to turn 3 in a couple days, he is about 1500g he's been off food for almost 3 months according to the previous owner. He said he did the same thing last year around this time so I'm not worried about that.
Two days ago I noticed his belly had a slight pink tint to it, I tried to take a picture but the camera wouldn't pick it up. I understand it might just be going into shed but since this is my first snake I'm freaking out. Temp on hot side is 85-87 and cool is 75-80 and humidity would be 50-60 but I bumped it up to 60-70 just in case he is shedding. He is darling, he gets spooked sometimes but is very open to people touching his head.
Anyways, I was trying to ignore the belly and tell myself its normal, but In caught him in his waterbowl for the first time (he's been in there 2 hours, is that too long?), is the humidity too low? I don't see any mites and its doesnt seem like scale rot, he has aspen but his cage is really clean. I emailed the previous owner but its 4am so I'm not expecting a response for a while. Does this sound normal? It's not a deep pink or anything, just something I noticed, just super anxious since I'm not experienced.
