When you feel like losing hope...

Keep trying, cause they will eat eventually!! I've posted about this girl before, but I received her in February with 2 other BPs from the same breeder. She was 550g. She refused to eat for me time and time again, so matter what I tried. In May i drove all my snakes back home in San Diego and i hoped the escape from winter would help. Still nothing. Then she started losing weight. I eventually took her to the vet and he suggeste it was time to assist feed. I held out, but eventually she was so skinny I decided to give it a shot. Assist feeding worked, but never jump started her natural feeding response. I continued offering consistently as she lost more weight. Another vet visit and blood tests revealed nothing. A few days ago, i offered her a small rat pup and she scared the crap out of me by instantly striking! She spent an hour working it until the rat split open and she spit it out. I offered a fuzzy today and she again took it with no issue. She had a lot of trouble getting it down as if she had no idea how to eat properly but after an hour, she managed to figure it out and got it down!! I am absolutely floored and on top of the world.

So, to all those who are months into a fast with their BP and feel like you have no idea how to help them, just keep trying. Stick with it. Sadie is absolute skin and bones at 330g and it's terrifying to watch, but keep your husbandry spot on and believe that they will come around. They will amaze you one day! I can't wait to see her at 3000g and pounding massive rate like a champ

I can't wait to see her take a huge dump

Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who does nothing because he could do only a little.
