    House Snake Setup

I'm looking for relatively low cost options for a pair of house snakes. I am not up to building anything. I am considering a small Economy rack. However, I live in New England. Is there any reason I couldn't add some Styrofoam around the open sides of the rack to hold in heat better and put the air holes in the front of the tubs (cool end)? Another idea I have is to buy a 48" cage and partition it. However, it only comes with 11" heat tape. Is that enough if placed in the very middle? The bars cages are inexpensive even when purchasing two, but at 24x12 it seems like the snake would have limited movement? The room temperature here in winter is only 65F. Will heat tape/mats be enough to keep the snakes healthy?
