So, the saga of the Fake Fire continues...

Quick recap if you haven't been following this: After a protracted terrible dealing with Dan Foss of Reptiles Plus in Pepperell, MA (Avoid this guy at all costs!) I ended up with 2 of the four animals I originally sent him back, as well as a BP that he claimed was a Fire het Albino but was obviously too dark to be one. It was also obviously starved.

Fast forward a week and two feedings (She was HUNGRY) and she's putting on a lot of weight, and she's also lightened up quite a bit. No shed yet, but her color's much lighter than when I first got her, and there's a pronounced yellowish stripe along her back (Pics to follow tomorrow).

The question I have is, will a Ball Python appear darker when it's been starved? The only explanation I can think of for this is that her scales actually contracted and compressed, making her appear much darker than she'd be under normal, well fed circumstances. Then again, it might be temporary. I'd appreciate any input that y'all might have.
