I believe that they are stronger and healthier, if left to come out on their time. But, I have no scientific proof of that. It is just my observation with my own collection over the last several years.

Empirical evidence: Evolution

Egg laying species where the mother incubates the eggs are all capable of opening the eggs. Imagine a chicken pecking a hole to help the babies out. If this system was a better way to ensure the genes get passed on, they would have evolved to do it over the last 230 million years.
