First off, my temp gradient is fine with heat from above (87 high, 80 low) and yes, my BP is in a fish tank (No I'm not buying a new enclosure.....yet...) because it was given to me. I'm wondering if it would actually be more efficient to place a black heat lamp UNDER the tank because it sits on a hollow pedestal.
Because the tank is 23" tall, I have to use a 100w day, 100w night (on the warm side), and a 50W night (on the cold side) plus a UTH, all on at the same time,to keep the temperature this way. I have a feeling that clipping the small 50w night light under the tank might actually be more beneficial. What do you guys think?
I'm gonna try it and see what happens. I'm home all day today so I can monitor everything and make sure I don't make a snake-kabob...
