Feeding Dilemma - Advice Please!
So, I recently got in 4 new BPs . The breeder had them all on rats of the appropriate size. The older female is 560g and I have rat for her no problem, but I'm having issues finding food for the smaller guys. All mine have been on mice, so I've never had this issue before. I tried feeding one of them a f/t mouse with absolutely no interest (the other two are pre-shed and one isn't particularly fond of me yet, several strikes later....). After discovering that they are used to rat pups, the hunt began. I've only weighed the one so far and he's 203g, all are similar in size. Trying to find rat pups ~20g has been impossible. In my current location there are ZERO reptile shops, so I'm stuck with Petco/Petsmart. The smallest rats they have are ~40g and waay too big for these guys. The guy at Petco suggested using live mice, but I don't want to have to worry about trying to switch them back to f/t rats at some point. I've heard of the scented rat spray and was thinking of trying that with f/t mice....
What would you guys do?? This is only temporary until May when I'll be back in San Diego permanently and won't have issues finding feeders of any size.
Thanks!
~Mary
