so i just ordered my first rack (yay!) and I'm looking into thermostats. originally i was going to go with the ve200 but am now leaning more towards herpstat. i'm kind of confused though on the differences between the herpstat 1 and the herpstat 1 basic. from reading the stats on spider robotics website i got the idea that the basic had a night drop feature. i don't need humidity control so i was going to go with the basic, but i ran across this thread: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...tat-1-vs-Intro in it, The Serpent Merchant says the basic does not have night drop.

on the website though it says
- The device adds a software clock that still provides plenty of configurable night time transition settings.
and -User selectable temperature and light ramping allows day to night changes to occur slowly. (Up to 10 hours)

does the basic have the night drop built in? if not, the ve200 plus the night drop module would be about the same price as the herpstat 1
