I've seen some good feeding stories around here, but not a thread dedicated to it.
Will gave me a good fight Monday night during his feeding. He is the most enthusiastic eater of any species that I have ever seen. He struck with so much gusto this time that he missed his rat's head, and instead started trying to swallow from its front legs. I gave him about twenty minutes to sort this out himself, thinking that he'd surely figure it out. Which he didn't. So, I tried to reposition his rat, but he wouldn't let go of it. Apparently, he thought that it was trying to escape him, so he re-coiled around the rat, my hand, and a piece of newspaper that he was sitting on. We wrestled like that for another ten minutes, and he finally let go of me, and shortly after, let go of the rat. I took his rat, which was covered in snake slime at this point, and put my hand over all of it besides the head, and he finally grabbed it and ate it normally.
He didn't show any aggression during this. I'm so proud of him. He has a new nickname now, 'Iron Will', because his coil strength is equivalent to my hand strength, and because I have yet to win a battle of willpower with him.
