Below is my new Lesser boy, Jax. He's just shy of 4 months old weighing 171g empty. I got him from Rice Reptiles at the East Texas Herpetological Society expo today. I wasn't originally going to purchase him. I went into the expo with the intent on getting some frozen feeder mice (for my spider who has decided she won't eat rats) and some hides for my rack since currently I'm using butter/cool whip/etc. containers with holes cut in them. Although they are functional, they aren't very uniform or aesthetically pleasing. So, I wanted to get some RBI type hides.
Upon arriving at the table, I was blown away by this Lesser and his sister. I've been wanting a pastel or lesser boy for awhile now and although I don't know a lot about what makes a good lesser a "good lesser", I found this guy and his sister and they were breathtaking to me. His sister as an IMPECCABLE pattern, very reduced. He is gorgeous as well. I got the chance to hold him and that seemed to move his bowls right along. He nailed my jeans and launched some urates onto the breeder's shirt. We had a good laugh as we grabbed some paper towels to catch the "mother load". Rob got a video of the event and will post it below...it will be graphically awesome with snake poo.
After the pooping, I returned him to his deli cup and walked around the expo, trying to figure out if I wanted to get him (the breeder made me a deal on a mojave female and him to produce some BELs, but sadly she sold the female by the time I got back around). When I made it back to her table, I just couldn't seem to pass up the little boy who pooped on me. This makes my 8th snake and I'd NEVER been pooped on until this day. How could I pass him up? He popped my snake-pooping-on cherry!
Without further adieu, here is Jax:
