I'd honestly rather be bit by a baby ball

Sometimes you just need to grab the camera during a bite from a Carpet Python. Unlike the ball babies, carpet python babies like to bite to kill. My granite has bit me more times than any snake in my collection. Today when I took him out for some macro scale shots, he decided he did not want to go back up (usually when a bite occurs). And so I took one for the team, and after 4-5 minutes of pure biting, he finally let go. Here's the bite, and the after math

I've been bit by baby balls a lot lately since the 2012's are a wee bit nippy, but I'd take their hit and release bites over this mondo kill you bite from a 16" long granite Irian Jaya :-)
