I have no clue on dumerils at all other than I know one when I see it. Got a call from a guy who got my # from someone that knows I deal in pythons. Said he had a beast of a ball if I was interested. I went to look at it and it was a dumerils boa. The guy has no idea how to care for it at all. He took it in trade in hopes of flipping it to make a quick profit. He was told it eats one medium f/t rabbit every four or five months. He has had it almost a month and hasn't attempted to even open its cage. It is in an old dresser with vent holes drilled in the back and a piece of plexi screwed to the front and holes cut in each level for it to get up and down. The cage was absolutely disgusting! Over a dozen piles of fecal matter and countless urate piles. No water and no heat. Only a floresent light. I need a good care sheet on them so I can help get it up to a minimum living conditions. The guy does seem to care enough about it to set it up properly now that he knows that what it has isn't right. I held it while he cleaned the cage and hooked up a clamp light for tonight and I'm going back tomorrow to wire up a dimmer and some flex watt. I'm trying to get it off of him but I don't have the amount of cash he seems to want for it. He's looking for $250 with cage and I offered $100 just for the snake as ill have a minimum $75 vet bill the second I leave with it. It is full grown I believe. It's roughly 6.5 feet and as big around as a base ball throughout most of its body. Not a drop of fat on it. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
