I love this stuff. Well actually, I use a generic aquatic Doxycycline, but it's the same thing at the same dose (100mg)

I have a feeder breeder (also a pet) who has an extraordinarily sensitive respiratory tract. Her sister is perfect, all her babies are perfect, but she is just terrible. I'm guessing it's a Myco issue. Usually I can stave off any RI in her by keeping the cage very clean and free of dust, but not always. Well, I can't just feed her off to the snake, but at the same time cannot afford to drop a ton of money into vet visits for a feeder breeder, so this doxyclycline REALLY helps. Gets rid of the problem in about a week, just open up a capsule, pour it in the water bottle and shake it up. The bottle needs to be cleaned very well with soap and water and a fresh dose added every day. I paid $22 for 100 capsules over a year ago and still have most of them.
I know it's not anything new to many people, but just wanted to say it's been a lifesaver for me! This will be kept on my shelf for as long as I have rats. I'm all for taking your animal to the vet rather than try to treat something yourself, and some antibiotics do different things than others, but this has cleared up RI in all of my rats I've used it on, as well as my mom's parakeet.
