I have a baby ball python that is in quarantine still, and it regurgitated a meal today, not sure exactly what went wrong?
It has been here a couple weeks and ate fine pooped fine. The temperatures here are very hot now and with all ball pythons it is common to keep them all at about 86F temps with no gradient during the summer, and he has been doing fine that way till today.
He ate last 3 days ago, and it was slightly but not much bigger than the before meal, certainly not any bigger than what I had been told by previous owner was it ate (I err on the safe side). Also, starting the day before yesterday there is a big thunderstorm here and temperatures fell to 80F. I thus put a heat pad under 1/3 of the tub and the high temps were 90 and the cool end was 80F. I thought this was just right? Yet, today it regurgitated. I did move him to a different spot in the room because the electrical cord for the heat pad wasn't long enough, but its basically the same. Humidity did rise above 70% to about 75% intermittently because of the storm in the whole house, and I did switch on a fan nearby which lowered it.
1) What could have gone wrong?
2) What do I do now? From what I understand, I clean everything, just leave it be for a week before feeding again, and feed a much smaller meal, like a pinky mouse? Should I increase/decrease the temps for now?
Geez I don't know what happened it was doing really well and I even thought wow this one will be a fast grower.
