    Introduction - Ricky's Reptiles

    Hello,

My name is Ricky Melamed, and I'd like to take a quick second to introduce myself to Bp.net!

I've been active on a different forum for quite some time, but unfortunately that forum has since become too aggressive and less enjoyable so I'm officially making the switch

I have been keeping Ball Pythons for nearly 15 years, and have been breeding on a small scale for 4 years. Roughly 3 years ago I started my own company, Ricky's Reptile Enclosures (RRE). RRE specialized in high end showcases and enclosures for Ball Pythons, and other humidity loving creatures. It combined my love of both animals and art - I am a designer by trade (I design custom office furniture 9-5 m-f). The company was doing wvery well, and opened up many doors to which I am forever grateful. This past December my wife went and we separated - she of course came after the company and the funds it was bringing in. So, I took some friendly advice and closed the doors!

Moving forward I decided to concentrate on breeding, and I haven't looked back since! My collection has steadily grown from a few to over 100 snakes, including several co-dom, dom and recessive snakes. Some of my favorites are my albino projects, my Butter Spinner, and My Solar. I absolutely love the way the Solar gene ages, it is fantastic and it's really too bad that most people haven't seen an adult Solar. The yellow blushing is out of this world, and is the only snake I've ever seen with such a bright yellow!

I'm working with several genes, and am most excited about a few "top secret" projects that I'll reveal when the time is right.

I love snakes, I love art and I am very excited to join this positive community of herpers!

    Thanks for having me,

    Ricky
