First off I'd like to say thank you to the BP & herp community, after browsing this and other forums for the past...well forever it seems, I've learned so much. I've seen so many people willing to help etc. So thank you all, for being an awesome community. I'm getting my first Ball Python (hopefully) in about a month. (Daytona breeder's expo) Assuming I find a beautiful female I want. So here's where my question comes into play..I was planning on getting a female Lesser hatchling, as I hope to one day (you know, like 2.5-3yrs down the road) breed a pair. I'm not looking to make a quick buck or anything of the sort, I just feel that breeding a pair is something I would love to do. I wanted to get a female first, and have her for a year to year and a half then get a male. I also wanted to start out with a female that is visually different from the norms (though, I have seen some gorgeous norms on here!) and had some decent breeding combo potential. My initial price range for a female is 300-350 or less. Do you think a Lesser is a good choice? What would you start with if you were starting over? (in that price range) Thanks for any opinions and input!
