I'm always reading about groups of people opposing keeping, trading and breeding exotic animals over in the US, and it always worries me.
I haven't heard so much of it over here apart from some companies campaigning, putting a person dressed as a chameleon in a cage on the street.... But then after seeing a couple of posts on Facebook about the APA attacking shows, and peoples opinions on them I had a look...

Well, for starters I'd like to know where they got their emo snake theory? Apparently (and please do tell me if this is true), baby ball pythons are committing suicide inside the egg because they know they're in for a life of captivity? I can't find the link to this theory anywhere now...typical.
They've sent bomb threats and everything. They're apparently looking to stop breeding and trade of any animal, and starting with reptiles because it'll be easier to convince the uneducated members of the public that all reptile keepers are evil, unrelenting animal abusers.
I'm not sure what's happening with the Doncaster Dome show, I think it may be going ahead now after words were had. But I cancelled my plans to go and now it's too late to arrange travelWas going to be my first show as well. Never mind. Last I heard there was a total prohibition on the sale or trade of any animal at the show, and its surrounding areas. Yes, even the car parks.
They put out a notice for whistleblowers to tell them where they can next direct their wave of annoyance. The show will be filled with members of the APA, hidden cameras and intrusive questions.
Maybe I'm being paranoid because this is the first thing to do with reptiles that's been ruined for me by the APA, but I'm just wondering how long it will be before keeping, breeding, trading exotics here will be illegal.
