I'm going camping in NH from Tuesday-Saturday and I'd like to get out and see some herps! I've looked on the Dept of F&G website for indigenous species in NH. I've never been "field herping" per se, I usually just find milk snakes around me. Would I have to go off trails and such when hiking to find them? Do I look under rocks and logs and such? The timber rattlesnake is the only venomous species up there, so I don't mind getting too dirty. From what I can tell they really only bite if stepped on or harassed. We're going to be in the Ossipee area, anyone know of any specific locations for some good herp sightings?
