So after trying to get my ambient temps right in my diy 5x2x2, I ditched my heat lamps and built a diy radiant heat panel.

With the heat lamps, I had a hot spot of around 95* but the temps as you moved further from the lamp would drop off quickly, leaving the cool side of the cage at around 73-74*.

The panel I made on the other hand is amazing, BUT the cage temps are almost completely uniform. My hot side is 83-84*( therm probe is hanging about 2.5" off the ground in the middle of the cage) and the cool side is 81-82*.

What would be the best way to raise the temp in the hotspot 5-6* while not altering the temp in the rest of the cage much? I had considered building a shelf for my burm to get her closer to the panel but I haven't seen many pics of how I would go about doing that. Ideas?
