    It is unclear what the legal relationship is between Casey and the property owners. It is absolutely false that a renter does not have control over who comes and goes and that a landlord (or property owner) has such authority. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would sign a lease that says otherwise. I don't even know if such a lease would even be legal.

    It does sound like she may be just renting a room which may change her rights from a whole house rental but it still doesn't mean she automatically gives up all rights entirely to determine who comes and goes.
