Hey guys and gals.
So in South Africa winter is approaching. With 2 of my girls now over 1.5kg's i figured i would give my hand at breeding this season.
I am very very excited!
I have cooled over the last month or so and started introducing my male. Who is a spider, just over a year, about 800Grams and producing sperm plugs.
I had hopes of trying my younger butter who is currently at 550Grams but it doesn't seem like that will happen.
I will be using this thread to ask questions that i don't find answers to and look for opinions and support where i need it. Please bare with me if my questions are silly.
I generally put my male in with 1 of the females on a Friday, and take him out on Monday morning. Try to feed and rest through to Thursday and then on to the other female the following Friday. My females both stopped feeding as it got cooler but started slamming food once they were bred.
When ever I introduce the male to the females cage, I witness her urinating more then usual. Is this normal breeding behavior? I generally witness locks(or almost locks) within the next day or 2. What I want to know is whether I should clean up like I usually do, or leave the cage a little messy?
Thanks in advance
