    Dinking around with Darthie

Last year, I bought a ball python mostly out of pity for the snake (mean and hungry) but a little because he had an interesting look to him. He looks a bit like a het red, a bit like a black pastel, a bit like a leopard... but nothing about him looked all like any of them. He was sold as an "alien heads" morph, het albino, sans documentation of his het status. He had curious little "fang" markings on his lips, which caught my attention.

A friend of mine and I are trying to see if his pattern is hereditary. He might be a bad example of something that will throw babies that can be better and tell us what he is. Or he might throw all normals. I've got my fingers crossed that he might be something different, and that's the crazy dream that we all have when we get one of those odd looking snakes, isn't it? Anyways, Darth Jackass is cooperating for once and working hard at helping us sort out the mystery.

I think I'm going to pour myself a vodka and squirt and toast the odds gods and plead with them to answer my question--what the heck is Darthie. Pic #3 captures his coloring best--a funky greenish cast when he's not hit by a close up flash. If any of y'all feel the need for an excuse to drink, y'all are welcome to toast with me.
