Help with blood tinged mucus.
While I wait for a call back from the vet, I'm wondering if any of you have come across something similar to my situation.
While checking my pastel, I found a 3-4 spots (the largest being the size of a dime, and the smallest being the size of a drop of water) of what looked like mucus with blood in it. I'm not entirely sure it's mucus, but I'm sure it's blood.
I thoroughly examined my guy and found no external injuries that could have caused it. He also exhibits no signs whatsoever of an RI, or of mouth rot. He acts his normal skittish self, tongue flicking is fine, and movement is fine. Temps and humidity are all spot on.
Some background on him: He was breeding this season but his mates eggs were infertile. His eating has been spotty; his last meal of a small rat was just about 3 months ago. He has had an RI in the past, but had the typical/classic symptoms, and was treated and healed with no problems.
So for the life of me, I can't figure this out. I'm fearing the worst - some kind of internal injuries or illness - but hoping for the best. Has anyone come across anything like this?
