Just wondering what people who use the aspen substrate keep their tub humidity at and how they do it. I love the aspen bedding because it is very easy to spot clean. It does tend to dry out fast though. I mist it along the sides of the tub and blast a couple mists on the aspen itself. I find myself having to mist again a day or two later because the humidity drops to the high 30's to low 40's .

I noticed that two of my newer snakes (had them less than a month) belly scales were a little dry and flaky. not mites or belly rot, just the shiny layer has flaked or peeled off a little. Tonight I mixed the aspen with some water and tossed it until it was not so dry and dusty. The humidity is around 60% and holding

I think it dries out so fast because I made it out of wood. That's why I am lookng at the pvc racks now. I have 10 BP's and adding more so it's time to break down and buy a decent rack that holds the humidity better.

any advice on how to better maintain humidity without over or under doing it?
