    Once a week? 10 days? 14 days?

I have a sub-adult ball python, sex unknown but I pretend he's male.

He's a garbage disposal. Over 12 months, he's never refused a meal and I hope he never does! He's the most eager feeder I have (and I have two boas, lol) and has a crazy response, starts striking all over the place and zooming out of the tub when a rat is offered.

I just wanted to ask when it's appropriate to lighten up on the feeding. So far I've been feeding him regularly every 6-8 days. If I go any longer than 7 days without feeding him, he gets restless, and very excited when I walk past the enclosure or open it.

Is it fine to keep on feeding him once a week? Or when should I start increasing time between feedings? He eats small rats right now and is very plump.

    Thanks!
