Hey guys last question for the day.. Just doing my banking and budgeting for the next few months and I ran into a few issues:
My 3 year old, previously underfed, female normal is being kept in a 20 gal right now, conditions are perfect I must say. Her sheds are amazing for being in a tank and she eats 10% every 7 days no problem. In fact shes my best eater. The dimension of the 20 gal are ~30 inches long by 12 inches wide and 12 inches tall (standard Zilla 20 gallon found in petsmart). She was 550-600 grams when I got her in October and shes pushing 1000 grams now. My question is: how much longer is it OK to keep her in the 20 gallon for?
For my breeding plans, I plan on getting two more racks at least. One 30 quart and one CB70 rack. Eventually she will be moved into the CB70 rack. However, I wont be able to afford one for another few months. My black pastel is pushing 600 grams now and I need to move her into a new rack (shes in the 12qt hatchling rack seen below) and I was planning on buying the 30 quart rack soon.
The 30 quart racks will use IRIS tubs, and the tub dimensions are 16 1/8" x 23 3/4" x 6". What do you guys think about moving my normal girl into the 30 quart tub? When do you guys normally move your females into the bigger 41 quart or CB70 tubs? And if I do move my normal girl into a tub, do I give her 7 days of privacy as if she was a new arrival?
My messy setup right now:
