    Feed them when you come back, feeding before a trip is not a good idea, should something go wrong while gone you could come back to a disaster.

    Not saying something will but the last thing you would want is comeback to a regurgitation should it happen while gone.

    I stop feeding 7 days before any trip.

    As for your feeding issues feed in the enclosure and if the animal never ate for you offer live until he is consistent and of course make sure your husbandry is optimal.
