Temporary tub: is this ok?
Hey all! Friday I am starting my Spring break and I am staying at my mom's house. Since I will be gone a total of nine day, my snake is coming with me. However, I really don't feel like hauling my vision cage and all that it entails for a nine day trip.
So, I went to WalMart and got a 17qt rubbermaid (which they only had in purple, but I don't think my snake cares. Will probably actually make her feel more secure.) I also got 4 large binder clips, and I drilled air holes in 3 sides.
I just want to make sure this will be ok. I put some substrate in there and I am running my spare heating pad to make sure the temp will be good in there. As you can see, the extra pad I have is too long for the tub I got, but do you think it's ok?
My snake is 320gm and this tub is just over 2/3 of her body length. It's about half the size of the vision cage she is in now, where she is thriving, but it is only for 9 days. I plan on putting her hides, a water bowl, and a couple of her plants in her temporary travel tub. She just shed last week, so I'm leaving the humid hide behind, she shouldn't need it, I'll just give the substrate a mist. (And obviously taking my thermostat. I also drilled a hole for the probe already.)
Anything else I should do? Any advice?
