Totally bummed, have to get a new engagement ring
I've been teary-eyed all day. I took my ring to two different jewelers to talk about my options. Turns out they both pretty much just offered me the scrap value for the ring. I spent so much time looking for the perfect simple ring and it turns out it's a diamond cracker
So...I have to go ring shopping again. I love the ring I picked out, so we decided to keep it as an extra ring and fill it with CZs. They will keep cracking/chipping, but at least they are cheap to replace and I can get different colors each time.
Just so everyone knows what to watch out for, this is my diamond cracker. It's not a tension setting, but it's that style. The problem is that it takes a lot to hold the stone in so it puts a lot of pressure on the stone, and the sides of the stone hit everything so it cracks/chips. Totally sucks. I love how unique and simple it is, and it has the euro band to keep it from spinningAND Blake gave it to me at his cancer benefit
