Well, I'll be just running the HU thru a quad of Boss 6.5" , no amp or anything (yet).

Why Boss? Facepalm... When this problem started, a few months ago, I thought the issue was in the speakers, so I replaced the stock Clarion ones and threw them away... It didn't occur to me to measure their impedance... FAIL

And since I had just spent $400+ on my first BP, and almost $1k on guitar gear (that will be the end of me), I went with the cheapest speakers I could find, (which I ended overpaying for )
