Okay... The details:
908 gram, 30-36", 2 year old '09 male (maybe) bp just took down a 15% f/t rat. He has been eating feeders WAY too small for him for months because he wanted nothing to do with rats. Until recently it was one adult mouse every Saturday. Week before last was one live adult followed by one f/t. Last Saturday one live mouse followed by one small f/t weanling rat, basically the size of a small very fat adult mouse.
Our plan is to go down to the 100g range for now because this one was big but not a struggle for him. It was pretty cool to watch him toss it around getting it to his hide so he could eat in peace. It left a noticeable bump but not huge. He's happily curled up not looking for more like he always does.
How long should we wait for his next feed? For boas they say 3-5 days after the bump is no longer visible. Knowing he's still a growing boy we'd like to support his potential AND he has just not been getting the correct amount of food for awhile now. He's last defecation was tiny and he does not have sausage butt.
ALSO... yay for a successful switch to f/t AND rats!!!
