I have found that when I open the shelf tubs and aim the temp gun into the back of the tub to measure it, the temperature readings are significantly lower than if I were to pull the tub out fully and measure it. I read before that someone measured by aiming diagonally into the tub into the openning of a hide, which I find out now is not the right way to do it.
I have read through the instruction manual again of the temp gun, and it says that you must aim it PERPENDICULAR to the surface to be measured. It also must not be a shiny surface or very angular surface, but a flat, dull surface, for the reading to be accurate.
Another note: It lists a few things that the temp gun mus be "protected" from. One of them were electromagnetic fields, such as from induction heaters....
Well guess, what? I looked up induction heaters and it is when you heat up something by passing current through a material that causes resistance. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that FLEXWATT is an induction heater?
