Got photos from the nasty pet store

Since last time no one responded to my calls and emails, I got pictures from the pet store that was so..offensive. Surprisingly, they were a lot better than they were last time. Though "better" is relative. You'll see by the pictures what is "A lot better" than what they were.

This is their planted tank example with a young female betta inhabiting it. That white fish on the upper right coming up for air. That poor girl.

Firebelly toad tank. The algae in there is actually thick, not just on the walls. Like someone stuck green cotton candy in the tank and it takes up most of the water space. Look at that grime in the gravel too. I watched them put crickets in the tank, so supposedly there are frogs in there..somewhere.

Supposedly this is their firebelly salamander tank. I...I don't know if any LIVING salamanders have been here in..months? years?

Sad iguana. Listed at 200 dollars by the way. No uvb lights or water dish in sight.

This is sad. This isn't a young bird or one that's just molting or even just losing feathers from stress.. I actually watched in horror as the finch tank mates ripped up this poor birds face. That pink on the back of his/her head is blood from the attack. The whole front of the bird was bare--I wish birds were easier to get pictures of, this one wouldn't hold still. Manager didn't care when I called him over. Apparently 'birds are just like that'

A...broken back discus fish. I can't tell if it's TB, an injury, or a horrible birth defect. Either way the poor thing can barely swim. If that IS TB, they could be in huge trouble. The tank is unlocked and easily opened, and as it is the lowest tank in the building, it is easily in any child's reach. Fish TB is transmittable to humans, and they could easily get a young kid ill.

They haven't restocked the enclosures where animals died. The feces and shed from the ball python who starved to death are still there. The feathers from the cockatiel who died are still there. A lot more empty cages. The only new animal they had was a young kingsnake who was healthy. Of course, they had only gotten him yesterday.

It's very sad. They overcharge--a lot--for their animals. That means the animals sit there and wait to be bought. But they don't take care of the animals while they are in the store. Awful.

I'm determined to get these guys shut down. No one listened when I didn't have pictures. Hopefully now they will. And if they don't, I'll go back for more pictures, or videos. Because nothing should get to this level. And this is an IMPROVEMENT.... Sorry guys..that's not enough.
