Re: So Since there are so many female keepers

First of all, I'm new to these forums and want to say hi to everyone. At some point, I'll make a "hi" thread and post some pics of my pets.

Wow. Epic doesn't even begin to describe this thread. I guess my roommate has been right all along when she's been telling me that there are plenty of reptile-loving ladies out there. Now to figure out where y'all hang out on the weekends...

The timing of this thread getting bumped is perfect for me. I've been especially lonely recently and I've found myself in numerous conversations about how "snake ladies" already pass so many filters and are already halfway to perfect for me merely because they share in this hobby. The result of those conversations has been that you either don't exist, are taken, or hide in your houses and play with your snakes on the weekend like I do and where I will never find you. I joke to my roommate when we're drinking and hanging out at home that one day a snake-laden beauty is going to knock on the front door.

Here are some of those ideal qualities which this hobby almost certainly guarantees:

    1. You love animals

    2. You aren't afraid of things just because someone told you to be

    3. You derive pleasure from caring for other's needs

    4. You enjoy the beauty of nature and discovering the unique personalities of all living things

    5. You're more likely to want to go on a weekend camping trip than to a bar

    6. You see more value in a beautiful animal than a high-ticket item (although sometimes this overlaps...)

    7. You probably have, like, or are at least accepting of tattoos and piercings

    8. You like art and science (call it a stretch, I'm sticking by it)

    9. You're not afraid to get your hands dirty

    10. You're not caught up in the BS. F%#! living in the box...

This list could go on indefinitely and I just want to say that you're all beautiful people merely for digging herps. What speaks volumes to me is not only the abundance of women who embrace this hobby, but the sheer physical beauty of so many of you as an added kicker. There are 10s EVERYWHERE in this thread... even one in my state! (Lgray, thank you for stepping it up in MA At the expo in Jan. in Manchester I'll challenge your boyfriend to a game of flip cup. To the victor goes the spoils, k?)

Thank you all for stepping it up and being courageous enough to contribute to this thread, despite some creepy undertones here and there (and... here?). You've all provided me a little twinkle of hope that there's someone out there for me. Keep on doing you. The guys that matter appreciate that more than you know.

I will now do my part and rummage through a mountain of ridiculous pictures from college to see if I have a few sensible ones to post on the herp guy thread.

Cheers and keep those pics coming
