I was told recently that hairless rats were not good to feed off to your snakes. The hairless were said to mostly just sit in the snake's stomach and not become digested properly because the hair of rodents usually plays some type of roll in digestion.
Apparently some guy bred hairless and they resulted in the death of some of his snakes because the rodent sat in the stomach of the snake.
I thought this was odd because snakes are known to eat lizards, and they have it completely opposite from fur. And on top of that, as far as I know snakes don't digest the fur or teeth of prey items.
Thought this was kind of interesting. I was looking into breeding hairless because I love the way they look and need more breeding females for snake food.
