I have 2 hides in Petey's enclosure, 1 is a fake rock and the other is a hollow cork log. He spends his sleeping time in the cork log hide and very seldom goes in the fake rock hide. Temps under the rock hide at the substrate are around 80 degrees. Temps in the log are 82 degrees and temps on the outside on top of the log is 90 to 94 degrees. Ambiant temps are 84 near the log and 79 on the cool side near the rock. I have UTH's under both hides and have a ceramic heat lamp above the cork log in order to keep the ambiant temps up. Since he stays in the cork log should I cut it in half so he will lay on the substrate closer to the UTH where the temps on the substrate are around 90 degrees or just leave everything as is? Heres a pic of him on the log I'm talking about.
