Long story short, we had a gal over that my wife knows to look at a candy cane corn snake we had for sale. She left in a big hurry and said she put the snake back in her tub. A little while later we found the tub open all the way (and these I made to be VERY tight so the snakes can't push them open) and no snake anywhere to be found. We assumed (although never accused her) that she had stolen it. We have dozens of sticky mouse traps in every corner, along every wall and in every cubbard. How could she NOT get caught in one chasing the plethora of wild mice in our house after being gone over a month?
Well we were woken up by my brother in law early this morning. He found the snake in the bathroom of the upstairs half of the duplex that he lives in. She is a little skinny, but otherwise looks great. Guess she had enough sense not to eat the wild mice. She is lucky my brother in law found her first because he has two cats and two dogs that are great about finding and killing every small animal in thier half of the duplex.
Like I said, no corn snake could possibly push open these tubs, so our only guess is the lady in her hurry to leave didn't close her tub.
