    Unhappy BP suddenly acting nervous?

My two-year-old male ball python has always been very docile and relaxed, but about a month ago, he started acting very nervous every time I would take him out of his tank. I've tried handling him more, but so far, that hasn't helped. He's never been dropped or handled roughly and nothing in his environment has changed, so I honestly have no idea what could have caused his sudden change in demeanor. Do BPs ever go through phases like this? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is making me quite sad. :/
