About a month ago, I brought my retic to the vet when I noticed "moveable" lumps on the side of her body (none on her belly). The vet tried piercing the the lump but found no offensive fluids. A week later, she had her blood tested and so far, was clean.
Overall, her sores from the burst blisters are healing with no problems (betadine + peroxide solution, finished by antibiotic cream) and appetite hasn't waned. Just frustrating that I'm treating a new one, although she is showing signs that they're healing. I used to clean her cage once a week....now I'm so paranoid, been doing it as soon as she pees.
Just last night, I burst a new (but VERY small) blister near her tail area (but not close to the cloaca) and got a whiff of some offensive fluids that didn't smell like snake pee. Again, flushed it with betadine and peroxide, whereas her previous sore is healing quite well.
I'll try to grab pics but based on your experience, how long do I have to put up with this? (the blister thing). The vet who saw her (boohoo to me...sucks to be surrounded by "dog only vets"...at least this one has experience with reptiles) blame her "poor genes".
Thanks,
PS: The retic in question will be 5 this December, roughly 6 feet long (dwarfish...).
PSS: Forgot to add...I'll ahve to check again what meds was injected to her. Just frustrated that as one heals up, another one pops up and so on. At least her skin's getting better now.
