    Building, Ovulating and Gravid

Just took a few pics this morning of girls in various breeding stages.

This first girl is in big time building stage. She was feeding aggressively and then suddenly started refusing, always a good sign.

This pied girl started ovulating last night and today her belly scales are being pushed up her sides. The spec you see is generally much further down on the side of her belly.

This reduced girl ovulated last week and is now approaching her pre-lay shed, her spine looks somewhat normal on the first third of her body then begins being pushed up over where the eggs are and comes to rounded peak .

You can see the eggs are not that far down yet as she can bend her tail area sharply where they have not yet reached. When she is getting closer to laying the eggs will travel lower and closer to the vent making her tail look tiny. Then you know she's gonna blow

When you have seen this happen many times it is quite obvious but for those who aren't sure what to look for it could sneek by as we see in the many surprise clutch threads.

Thanks for looking and best of luck with all your breeding projects
