Some snakes are just like that. You can try to keep handling him/her to see if they calm down, but there's no guarantee. My Ball is sweet, but she'll flinch at anything that goes near her head and if you put her down she makes it her mission to run away. The RTB I just got is a big, sweet slug; she wanders, but it's more of a "oh hey, what's that?" kinda curiosity, she never tries to wing it off my arm or bed like my Ball.

Try and stick with him and see if he calms down. It might just be a young'n issue.
