A few days ago, I brought home my very first snake; a juvenile black ratsnake. I've been told she's two months old? I have to say, it's been... interesting.
Nyx has a bit of... how do you put it on BP.net? Personality.She's acceptably calm once you start handling her, but she hisses and poses up whenever I go into her cage. I'm probably the only one who finds her tail rattling, biting, and striking to be laughable coming from such a little thing.
She's about 20 inches long, and as thin as a pencil. She has the most interesting pattern I've ever seen on a baby black, and I'm going to be a bit sad when she outgrows it, heh.
That lowest stripe continues down the front half of her body, then breaks up into spots. I've never seen a pattern like hers on a black ratsnake, but then again, they're all extremely variable..
Just wanted to share; I'm still so excited to have bought my first snake, haha.
