So a couple weeks ago my boyfriend and I were convinced our Snickers was going to shed because she looked 'dull'(we are novices) but she didn't and last week at this time her eyes started clouding over and it became obvious she would shed....which she did last night. Today I unwound her tightly knotted up shed ball and it was complete(eye caps and all)
It was a nice 1 piece shed but there was a tiny speck of dried up blood in the mid-section of shed. It was was in mid-section of the shed so it didn't come from her spurs. We examined her closely tonight and made her stretch out(and she hated it) but we had to check. She looked perfectly fine and even though she hated us stretching her body out straight to check her out she did eat 20 minutes later so we didn't piss her off too much.
I just don't know why there was a speck of dried blood on her shed?(her previous shed was also a 1 piece shed and had no blood whatsoever)
The amount of blood was VERY small(and wasn't near her spurs but why should there be blood at all?)
We have checked her for mites ever since we had her and it isn't pin worms because we we feed FT and my understanding of pin worms is that the blood would be defecated.(and we check her tank for poop and urates everyday)
I just don't get what this little bit of dried up blood came from in the middle of her body?
All her scales look fine and we examined her closely.
Is this little speck of blood on her shed skin something to worry about or not???
