This is my first breeding season and the first clutch to drop was my het pied x het pied. It's day 48, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to see these little guys hatch!

Here's the morning I found Piper as she was laying her clutch (You can probably tell in the video that it's my first time. Just a wee bit excited):

Momma wrapping her eggs (I moved them to an incubator shortly after this):

She layed eight eggs total, all of which have candled with strong veins and are showing movement as of three days ago. I don't have any current pics of the eggs, but I can take some and post them, if you'd like.

Here's where the story gets interesting: I trust the breeder that I got my male from (Justin from Australian Addiction Reptiles, good guys), but I got the female from an unknown guy on the local classifieds, and, looking back, I'm not sure how trustworthy he was (he tried to sell me a regular pastel as a pastel butter, for example). So there's a chance that I just wasted a breeding season by breeding het pied x normal because the female doesn't carry the gene at all. Needless to say, I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed.

So here's the big question. How many pieds do you think I've got in there? If I got the parents right and get exactly the what the odds say, I'll get two (25%), but it's all a roll of the dice, right? Do you think I got snookered and they'll all come out visible normals? Will I get one? Two? More?

Post your best guess! I'll update with pics when things start getting exciting (Friday is day 52, so we shouldn't have to wait too much longer).
