Hi Everyone,

This is my first winter with my ball python and I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is "normal" winter behavior. I've read plenty of times its normal for them to go off feed in the winter months, so I'm not to worried about that.
Since about December my BP has had a very low feed response. He (I dont know if its really a he or a she) used to grab the f/t mouse pretty quickly from the tongs when presented with it, now sometimes he just looks at it. There are other times he comes up to it, checks it out and looks like he decides "nahh, not in the mood". I've tried placing the f/t mouse in the tank and leaving them alone for a while, that worked once. I've also tried dancing the mouse around (this is what seems to be working best right now). So basically he isn't feeding as normal, skipping meals for about 3 weeks or more at a time.
The other thing is that he isn't popping his head out of the hide at all. He used to do this a lot, but lately hes just been in the same place constantly from what I can tell...almost like hibernating. Is that normal?
My husbandry is 80 cool side, 90 hot side, 50-60% humidity, ambient temps were in the low 70's so I added a heat lamp to raise the temps a bit. I keep my house pretty cold.
Any insight would be awesome, this is my first BP so I'm new to the different behaviors for different seasons.

Thanks!!
