Ok I know this is a very odd question. I bought a "male" lesser last year in hopes of making kingpins this year with my female pin. Now when I first received "him" I probed him and got approximately 10-12 scales, NOT pressing hard by any means. I have probed many snakes and understand how to probe. I am not very comfortable on popping yet and just prefer to probe. I have watched all the videos and have a friend who is quite a large breeder and have watched it done but just prefer not to YET. Anyway on with the story, this so called male lesser has not been cooperating this season with any of my girls and he is around 850 grams. So I just put him back in his own tub and went on with my season hoping maybe he would be ready later. Well I had some geckos hatch and needed a quick tub to hold them for a week or so while I get my hatchling rack built so I put my male albino, who has been copulating with everything and anything, in with the male lesser for a short stint. This was yesterday. Today I went back to put the albino in with another girl after his 3 days of rest and what do I find but him locked with the lesser. So either I have a switch hitting lesser or it completely was mis-sexed by me and a few others. I immediately bothered them to get the albino off because if the lesser is a female she is way too small for breeding but would like to know if anyone has had this happen with two males?
Also I did a little research but did not find info anywhere that if it were to be a female that it could be injured in any way from possibly being probed to deep? Or is it possible that it could just be a female with the hemipenes pockets? I figure it would make a male infertile if the probe is jammed through the hemipenes but what about a female seems how there is technically no sexual features there (with exception to the scent glands, but obviously those are working)?
Sorry for the long post, Thanks in advance for any info.
