    My apologies

In recent history, I reacted poorly to criticisms from others on this site. Please allow me to explain:

As to my "Cold and callous" disposition:

Being a veteran of the War in Iraq, I am no stranger to pain and suffering. It is very likely that my experience on the battlefield clouded my judgement as to the wellbeing of the animal in my care.

Also please consider that I am an economics major; though It seems outwardly that I have no compassion, I do! I think initially in decimals and dollars, it takes me a couple of days to process emotion. It's just the way I'm wired. I am definitely a man of compassion and love. On the civilian side I am an elementary school teacher. I care for my canine pets and well as my herps.

The situation with Gadsden (My snake) came at a very inopportune time. They recently changed the laws in my state as to tire tread for licensing and registering vehicles. I was unaware as to the change, so the need for new tires on my truck was a very unpleasant surprise which drained my emergency fund. Two days after, I first discovered my snakes condition (I initially thought that it was a mouse that hadn't fully digested, and thought it no big deal). when I discovered the severity of what it was, I immediately came to this forum, called friends, vets, local pet stores, and checked Facebook for options. Please do not confuse an unfortunate sequence of timing for unwillingness to help. Yes, I think in terms of decimals and dollars, but I am no heartless animal.

I would very much like to apologize to everyone for my actions and words.

A bit of good news: Gadsden's condition is improving! With a thorough regiment of soaking, sugar-water and anti-biotic ointment, along with removing all substrates and anything that could further irritate the prolapse, and keeping the temperature at a slightly warmer than normal level and heightened humidity, Gadsden seems to be on the rebound.

Thank you for your guidance direction and concern for my pet.
People will only give up their liberties under false pretenses.
