Great rescue/story! It's always nice to see these poor animals end up in great homes! You did a great thing!
Last February I rescued a 5'-6", 15 year old, male BP (although I was told it was a female and previously laid eggs). I could tell it was in terrible conditions from the photos posted, so i made the 1 1/2 hour drive (each way) to go get "her". When i get there it was worse than i expected. She was WAY under weight and had stuck shed and rat bites all over her.
After I removed her from the nightmare, I got her home and did a once over and checked her weight...she weighed in at 1800 grams and was almost 66" long!
Now HE is coming up on a year with us and is over 3200 grams and still on the lean side! All stuck shed and eye caps came off with his first shed with us and the rat bites are barely visible! This snake is also our friendliest and most outgoing by far! It's almost like he is showing his appreciation for us rescuing him!![]()
